We are currently out of stock. If you give "c-monsta" a google you should be able to buy one from one of our partner retailers.
It is great to be able to injection mould the product from recycled plastic up here in bonnie Scotland. We know the source of the plastic, who makes them and how they are made. When plastic is recycled and used properly it makes a great material for purposes such as long-lasting, super strong, closing the loop, awesome rad gnarly wetsuit hangers.
We believe that when you have your 5 or 10 year anniversary with your c-monsta you will not look back and think about the £35, you will just look at your beautiful c-monsta and tell it that you love it and how grateful you are for all the good times you've had together.
It is a small family run business from the North of Scotland with the aim of helping people to look after their cold water kit. By using the prototypes the founder, Mark, discovered that by not leaving his wetsuit in a stinking heap in the bathroom or van that he doubled the lifespan of his wetsuit. This meant that he saved over £300 every two years and less neoprene ended up in landfill.
Days of climbing into a cold wet wetsuit came to an end, stinking boots were less stinky, the cold water kit was always together, boots didn't get lost and his partner was happy to have her bathroom back from the sloppy spidery neoprene monster, defender of the shower tray.
The original c-monstas were made by Mark as Christmas gifts for friends but eventually he decided that he should share the idea with everybody.
If you think you might like one, you'll probably love it.

First and foremost, the product - 5 stars.
Undeniably, it's fantastic - we use our hangers for both our 4mm surf suits and 6/8mm dive suits; it's clear with the added weight of a dive suit, boots, gloves AND hood (looped through the central hook arm) that the product is well made and should maintain a decent lifespan. The design is great at reducing stress points on suits whilst allowing maximum drainage and air flow between surfaces. It's seemingly good value for money, depending on their life span. I also like that Mark's production process is supposedly transparent with the materials being sourced from recycled plastic and the process local and semi-sustainable. I really appreciate the principle of a closed loop life cycle; returning it back to bonnie Scotland one day, when it eventually gives up the ghost and serving as a small deposit against a new one. Knowing that the recycled plastic may have once upon a time been fished from the ocean sits nicely in my mind - you cannot fault the product...
HOWEVER (and for me, it's a big however)...
We end with the packaging - 1 star.
Packaged from certified recycled carboard, tick? That's where it ends - unfortunately the recycled cardboard box came double wrapped in seemingly ten tonne of plastic parcel bags). The cardboard box was sealed with more plastic tabs which take off all the cardboard below with their adhesive when removed (preventing them being recyclable by my local council (and supermarkets)). Regardless of these materials being recyclable or not, they are completely unnecessary and I cannot possibly find a way of justifying their use - it reverses all the good doings of the product itself.
The box is so fantastically printed and designed it makes the use of the parcel bags and tabs utterly soul destroying. If your main clientele are sea goers alike, they're going to be more conscious of their purchases, the packaging and see through any spews of greenwashing. Take some tips from Brands such as Wild (deodorant) and Sheyn (jewellery) who use their trademark designs on the exterior of their FSC cardboard packaging to extend their marketing and restrain from suffocating their produce in layers of plastic bags. Explore the use of printed (for additional marketing touches) brown tape to seal the box and replace those horrid plastic tabs.
I've yet to recommend the C-Monster hanger to any of our surf or dive buddies based on this factor alone. We were looking at purchasing additional hangers so all six of our suits could have their own, but alas, until the packaging crisis is addressed, we will be refraining.
I've met in the middle with 3 stars - in my mind it feels harsh, but as our governments are flaccid with any attempt to regulate single use, unnecessary products/packaging and dire recycling success rates, it unfortunately falls to the Brands and their manufacturing procedures to turn the tide on plastic waste.
I love reviews like yours because they incite response and action.
Firstly, it is great that you like the product, so thank-you for being specific about that.
As for the packaging, it has not been done without consideration so it would be great to explain my logic. In order to transport c-monstas they are boxed up container boxes of 25. I have tried not putting sticky tabs on them and they come out of the container boxes looking shabby and some of my products end up on shop floors - so must look their best. I'm not sure but could you not take the sticky tabs off the packaging then they would be okay for recycling?
I like to think when someone buys perfume or moisturiser or shampoo, what they actually buy looks like in a glass or dumped on a surface - they'd probably never buy it. I hope when people see the c-monsta that they would like to buy it - packaging or no packaging. I would happily send c-monstas without boxes even, just a sticker on them but this is unrealistic with the straps etc.
Initially when I started c-monsta I was just sending c-monstas to customers in their boxes with the delivery sticker directly on the cardboard. As far as I am concerned this is the best way to send them. I was very quickly informed by several customers that their c-monsta had been bought as a gift for their partner and they had been looking forward to giving them a nice surprise and that moment was ruined by the partner intercepting the parcel.
I next used an eco mailer made from sugar cane but after reading an article I realised that a normal recycled mailer is probably better for the environment. The mailers I use are slightly larger as I wanted a one-stop solution where I could fit anything from 1 to 5 in a bag. The bag is made from LDPE so can be recycled by some local authorities.
I am always happy to have a chat to see ways in which I can improve the product, the packaging and my service so feel free to call me on 07546 242 474 - it sounds like you may have a few nice tips to help things keep moving in the right direction!
All the best,
Bought this for my surfing son's birthday. Had it's first outing today after his dip in the sea at Manorbier, Pembrookshire. He loves it 😁👍
I deliberated about buying this as a present for my daily sea swimming wife to get her wetsuit gear off the garage floor, after snapping numerous plastic and wooden hangers.
However, putting it into use, it is obvious that this has been an extremely well designed hanger, with a lot of thought put into the requirements. Good design always makes the product very effective and easy to use.
The Monsta Wetsuit Hanger encapsulates this in its simple design an effectiveness to hold the wetsuit, boots and gloves.... It is absolutely perfect. I wholly recommend this for anyone who needs to keep their gear together for drying and storage. Some may think it is a bit pricey, but what you get is a product that is well designed, functional and appears it will last a lifetime......Well worth the price.
PS Any plans to design an anti-splash drip tray, just to save my garage floor during the winter months.... Ha Ha
initially sceptical as it seemed a luxury item, I'm very pleased and impressed with my C Monsta. Well designed and sturdy it's worth every penny.
Pleased to finally receive my wetsuit hanger - my only issue is that my eldest daughter has her eyes on it so I'm assuming a further order will be coming soon !! Great design and can't wait to use it once the warm Westerly's kick in !!
